Our Team's Story
bobby
So the whole story started with a guy called Bobby. He simply cannot sit still doing nothing. He has launched 10 business initiatives with mixed successes and has hawked various items from food and t-shirts to storage and shipping services  (yeah, right...). He was the Head Boy in school and enjoys leading people in achieving great things together (btw, his blog and Twitter updates are here and here). Bobby was the original co-founder of ChallengeJam (you can send him an e-mail here: bobby@challengejam.com, he'd be delighted :). This guy had an idea, but what about executing it? That's when he came across...
krys
Krys! Yeap, well-known as a geeky-techie kind of guy, Krys studies IMB so he knows a bit about the businessy-financy thingies as well (so he can translate what the business team wants to the if-else language understood by the dev team). Programming and problem-solving is his passion. All the PHP-MYSQL stuff that works behind the ChallangeJam website is the product of his Red Bull-fuelled coding marathons. If you spot any errors or glitches, let Krys know at krys@challengejam.com.
So anyway, the guy started looking for an All-Star team of developers who would code for beer. But in the meantime, in the businessy-marketingy section Bobby found another team member. This guy is
krys
Daniel! Daniel was Bobby's coursemate. His entrepreneurial (omg, is that even a word?) experience started from the age of 14, when he started selling children's toys, door to door (sounds familiar, eh?). A few sales, not forgetting to mention a lot of slammed doors later; he started an online retail business selling mobile phones, later expanding to perfumes too. While studying Economics at UCL, Daniel co-founded bookstreet.co.uk (y u no click the link?!) an online student-only bookstore. Daniel and Bobby met in an Economics lecture at UCL, later coming on board to ChallengeJam. If you want to tell Daniel how awesome he is, go ahead: daniel@challengejam.com
So the we had 2 guys willing to sacrifice their souls to the business part of our start-up. To make things a little bit more... hmmm... interesting we thought that we could use "another point of view". That's when the team gained its beautiful, charming, intelligent, bla bla bla and everything member...
krys
Julia! Julia was the final addition to our business and marketing team. Studying IMB and being a founder of a small - scale fashion retail business in Warsaw (now that's impressive!), she had some pretty good insight into how businesses work. She also had some internship experience in a media and publishing company and finance department of a luxury goods company Pandora Jewelry. Not to mention that she also led various societies at high school and was part of various business related societies throughout university. A Renaissance Man indeed (who you can contact at julia@challengejam.com).
In the meantime however things were getting more with the dev team. Using his legendary negotiation skills (and some beer too, let's be honest) Krys has managed to convince one great techie to help him out. This guy is...
krys
Maciej! This guy produces what you actually see here. All the graphics, interface and stuff - praise this him. Maciej's main intrests are human-computer interaction and interface design (thank you, Captain Obvious!). You know the game "Witcher 2", right (if you don't, you better not get close to him...)? So a funny fact here - Maciej designed a character or two for this game, a result of his 5+ year experience in game art design and content creation. If you have any questions on how to kill a dragon (or design a website, whatever...), let him know at maciej@challengejam.com.
So here's pretty much the entire story of our team so far. Questions, ideas, suggestions?
